About Round Rock
Round Rock is a city located in Travis and
Williamson counties and established in 1851. CNN
Money included in 2008 Round Rock in the list of the
best small towns to live in on the 7th place. Round
Rock is also liked to the name of Sam Bass, the
nineteenth-century American train robber. Bass was
tracked to Round Rock and as he attempted to flee
and was shot and killed in a gun battle by Ranger
George Herold. The event is known locally as the
"Sam Bass Shootout” and is re-created each year at
the July 4 'Frontier Days' Celebration in Old
Settlers Park.
An abundance of nearby recreational activities is
available for the tourists, including numerous
surrounding lakes, parks and bike and hike trails.
Each year, Round Rock is home to local festivals and
fairs such as the Taste of Round Rock, Frontier
Days, Daffodil Days and Fiesta Amistad. Renowned as
the “Sports Capital of Texas,” Round Rock’s athletic
facilities are some of the best in the country.
Round Rock is home to the Class AAA team Round Rock
Express.

Street to modern galleries and antique furniture.

and is perfect for finding that souvenir you want

Close is the Chaparral Ice Skating Rink, which is
just four miles away. If you enjoy sports you should
visit the Forest Creek Golf Course or Old Settlers
Park which offers a professionally designed disc
golf course, cricket, 20-field baseball complex,
five-field softball complex.
